About This Call
The Big Easel is an outdoor art festival hosted in the River Ranch Town Square every spring, taking place on November 8th from 9 am-4 pm. Artist tents fill the Town Square featuring various mediums including oil, acrylic, wood, pottery, jewelry, metal, mixed media, watercolor, glass, and more. This is a free event for all who wish to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase.
To apply, artists must submit high-resolution images of 5 pieces that best represent the body of work they will show if accepted. Images can be of currently available work and/or sold pieces but must demonstrate the type of work the artist will be creating between now and The Big Easel. Each image submission must include the work's Title, Medium, Size, and Price. Only original handmade work will be considered, with 75% or more of the product being the artist's own creation. Only original works will be allowed during the show - reprints and giclees are not permitted for display.
The festival fee is $140 due to the River Ranch Institute. Tent rentals are mandatory through Party Central: 10x10 tent ($175), 10x20 tent ($225), or 20x20 tent ($400). Artists must check in at the Gazebo between 6:00-6:30 am and complete tent setup by 8:30 am. Louisiana sales tax must be charged on all sales.
