About This Call
The Betsy Price Citywide High School Art Competition 2016 is open to all high school students in Fort Worth, TX and surrounding areas within a 20 mile radius. Works must be 2-D (no photography or computer generated work). All works must be original and completed within the last year. Two-dimensional works, when displayed, cannot exceed 60" in height or width, including frame. All works must be available through the entire run of the show and cannot be sold or shown elsewhere during the competition timeframe.
Entrants may submit up to three digital images of different artworks via CaFÉ with no entry fee. Each work must be represented by only one image. Jurors' choices will be announced via email and the CaFÉ website during the last week of April and no later than May 5, 2016. Selected works must be delivered by May 11, 2016 (gallery hours M-Sat 10-4). All 2-D works must have hangers or be wired for hanging.
The exhibition runs May 16–May 28, 2016 at Fort Works Art. Jurors are Andrea Karnes, curator at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Sedrick Huckaby, artist and assistant professor at The University of Texas in Arlington. Awards: 1st place - $5,000 (to be exhibited in Fort Worth City Hall for 1 year); 2nd place - $3,000; 3rd place - $1,000. The top 25 selections will be featured in the 2-week exhibition at Fort Works Art. For additional information, email [email protected].
