About This Call
The Barn Gallery's Summer 2026 exhibition will feature contemporary work by artists using glass as a material. Hot, warm, and cold glass media artists are encouraged to apply, including those working with blown glass, cast glass, sculpted glass, stained glass, etched/engraved glass, fused glass, mosaics, cut glass, and neon. Artists may submit up to three artworks. This exhibition will be held concurrent with a historic glass exhibition by the Yolo County Historical Society at the neighboring Gibson House in Woodland, CA.
Eligibility requirements: Artists must be 18 years of age or older and use glass as a material in their work. All submitted artworks must have been fabricated after January 1, 2016. Submissions will be reviewed by YoloArts for eligibility, then juried by members of the YoloArts Arts Advisory Committee using the 11 Aesthetic Attributes framework. Edits may be made based on number of submissions and size of works.
Artwork guidelines: 2D work should average 9" x 12" (framed) and not exceed 6' x 8'. 3D work may be displayed on pedestals provided by the gallery or artist. All 2D artwork must meet professional gallery display standards—framed and wired for installation, or if on canvas or board, must be wired (no sawtooth hangers). Fabric works and other non-traditional unframed works must include a display system. Submissions must include basic contact information, a narrative (100-300 words), artist statement (100-300 words), educational components description, CV or resume/bio, headshot, and three labeled digital images at 300dpi with an image checklist. Submit at https://yoloarts.org/call-for-art/
