The Artist's Vision -- Open Call

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels (emerging to established) to submit original artwork to this national open call exhibition with no theme restrictions. Any theme, style, or subject matter is welcome. The gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 images. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions must include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for secure installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Maximum dimensions are 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and 45 lbs for paintings; sculptures should not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats only.

The exhibition runs July 5-31, 2023. Jurors and curators will select work for display. Awards include First Prize $450, Second Prize $250, and Third Prize $100. One artist will be selected from all accepted artists during the calendar year for an exhibition opportunity in New York City. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. Accepted artwork must arrive by June 30, 2023. The gallery will return unsold artwork August 3-7, 2023. For sales, the artist receives 70% of the final sale price and the gallery receives 30%. Artists retain all rights to their work.
