About This Call
The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to this national open call exhibition with no theme restrictions. Any theme, style, or subject matter is welcome. Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.
Submission Requirements: Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 images. All images must be JPEG format, under 5 MB, with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submit through CAFE (CallForEntry.org). Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Paintings should be framed or gallery wrapped. Photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats. Maximum dimensions: 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and 45 lbs for paintings; 24 inches on any dimension for sculpture. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs both to and from the gallery. A prepaid return shipping label must be enclosed with artwork.
Timeline and Awards: Entry deadline is December 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Artists will be notified on or about February 24, 2025. Accepted artwork must arrive by April 4, 2025. Exhibition dates are April 9 through May 7, 2025. Unsold artwork will be returned May 10-16, 2025. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and a Director's Choice Award of $200. For sales, the gallery retains 30% commission and the artist receives 70% of the final sale price. Artists retain all rights to their work.
