The Artist's Vision (2024) - Open Call

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to this national open call exhibition with no theme restrictions. Any theme, style, or subject matter is welcome. The gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Submission Requirements: Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to 9 maximum. All images must be JPEG format, under 5 MB, with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion with each submission. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Maximum dimensions are 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and 45 lbs for paintings; sculpture should not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. Photographs should be framed with black or white frames preferred. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance both to and from the gallery. A prepaid return shipping label must be enclosed with shipped work.

Timeline and Awards: Entry deadline is March 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified by May 7, 2024. Accepted artwork must arrive by June 11, 2024. Exhibition dates are June 15 - July 14, 2024. An "Art of Distinction" Award will be granted to one artist for a special future exhibition. Additionally, one artist accepted and displayed in an MVA Gallery exhibit during the calendar year will be selected for an annual Grand Prize exhibition opportunity in New York City, with notification in December. For sales, the gallery takes a 30% commission with 70% going to the artist. Artists retain all rights to their work.
