About This Call
The City of Frisco seeks original, 2-dimensional artworks created by Frisco ISD faculty and staff to be exhibited in the Grand Gallery at the Discovery Center. The exhibition is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 through Saturday, June 1, 2024, with a reception on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 6 to 7:30 pm.
Only submissions by Frisco ISD faculty and staff members will be considered. Artists may submit up to three images of original artwork. All artworks must be original, framed, and suitable for hanging with wire securely attached. Three-dimensional artwork will not be considered. The maximum artwork size is 60 inches (vertical) x 60 inches (horizontal). Photographs must be printed on quality paper at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Art displayed in the Discovery Center must be appropriate to an office setting and for viewing by public officials, City employees, and citizens, including children.
Submissions must include the artist's name, title of artwork, date of completion, medium/media, size in inches, artist statement, artwork description, and price if for sale. Images should be submitted in .jpg format with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the shortest side. All artworks must be delivered and picked up in-person on designated dates only: drop-off on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm, and pickup on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from noon to 2 pm at the Frisco Discovery Center (8004 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034). Shipped artworks will not be accepted, and return shipping will not be provided. Selected artists will be required to sign a loan agreement. Artwork may be for sale, provided it remains on display until the conclusion of the exhibition. The City of Frisco does not receive a commission on artwork sales.
