The Art of Welding

Nicolet College Art Gallery seeks welding-inspired artwork for an exhibition running December 11, 2025 through January 24, 2026 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. This exhibition is part of the annual "Art of" series hosted by Nicolet College Art Gallery, which showcases one of the College's schools each year. The series features artworks from student, local, and regional artists that either employ the tools of welding or express the welding industry thematically.

Artists 18 and older from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan are encouraged to apply. Submit up to 3 pieces for consideration by October 3, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Accepted artists will be notified by October 17, 2025. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery; shipping deadline is November 24, 2025. Hand deliveries are accepted on November 21, 2025 (8am-4pm) or by special appointment. The opening reception is December 11, 2025 (4-6pm). Hand pickup of work is available January 26, 2026 (8am-4pm) or by special appointment; shipped works will be mailed the following week with pre-paid return postage. The gallery takes no commission on artwork sales; settlement between artist and patron will be negotiated directly.
