About This Call
"the ART of WatER" is an open, inclusive international competition for artists of all mediums to submit work relating to water in all its forms and impacts. Artists can live anywhere in the world and work in any medium including painting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, fiber, digital art, and photography. All artwork must be original work created by the artist and not copied or created with instructor assistance.
Selected artwork will be displayed in a 3D immersive virtual gallery on the Red Bluff Art Gallery website and promoted to the gallery's online audience, collectors, and social media contacts. Artists retain 100% of proceeds from any artwork sales and can choose whether or not to sell their work. The exhibit will remain active on the website for a minimum of one full year. Entry fees are $28 for the first entry and $14 for each additional entry (maximum 20 images). Entries must include 1-20 images. Notification of selections will begin May 18, 2025, via email.
Awards include First Place ($200), Second Place ($150), Third Place ($100), and multiple Special Recognition Awards ($50 each). All selected artwork will receive a Notice of Award in the virtual exhibit. Entry fees support cash prizes, exhibition administration, 3D virtual gallery construction, and the Accidental Animal Rescue Center, which provides sanctuary and habitat for animals. Fees also support native plant habitat expansion and maintenance of wildlands.
