The Art of Photography 2020

The R.G. Endres Gallery annual Art of Photography competition is held every year during the month of April with a gala reception on Friday, April 10th, 2020.

Open to all photographers, 18 years of age or older, whose submitted works are created with a camera, independent of any supervision. Submissions are accepted from January 21st through February 18th, 2020. Up to 15 entries are allowed per artist, with a mix or match of categories permitted. Only one entry per category per category per artist will be accepted for the show, though it is possible for one artist to have three works in the show (one in each category). Entry fee for one image is $25.00; each additional image is $5.00. Fees are non-refundable. A diptych or triptych can be submitted as one entry if it meets the same requirements as a single entry.

Three "Best of Category" awards of $500.00 and six "Honorable Mention" awards of $200.00 will be given. Categories are: Portraits and People; Landscapes and Architecture; and Abstract/non-traditional/photo-collage/highly digitally enhanced. Any image that does not fit clearly into the first two categories will be placed in the third category. Accepted artwork must be matted and fit into a standard size frame: 11" X 14", 16" X 20", 20" X 24", or 12" X 36". Framed pieces will not be accepted; frames will be provided. All work must be for sale. The gallery sales commission is 40%. Matted images can be delivered by hand or mailed to the Prairie Village Arts Council, 7700 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208 between March 23rd and March 26th, 2020. Mailed works must include a postage paid return label. Hand delivered images not sold are to be picked up on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020, between 9AM and noon only. Mailed works will be sent back Tuesday, May 5th, 2020. Any artwork unclaimed 30 days after the exhibition closing will become property of the Prairie Village Arts Council.
