The Art of Healing

Siy Gallery invites artists and photographers to submit work for "The Art of Healing," a photography exhibition focusing on artwork that raises awareness of mental illness and promotes de-stigmatization. Twenty artists will be selected to exhibit in the group window exhibition at Siy Gallery's Folsom Street location in San Francisco from April 3 to May 3, 2021. One winner from the twenty selected artists will be chosen for a future solo exhibition.

Submissions must include a high-quality photograph of your artwork (not exceeding 16 inches x 20 inches), your name, the artwork title, and a narrative of 100 words or less about your piece in relation to mental health. Photographs may be in color or black and white. The entry fee is $21 for one image. Submissions are due by March 19, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selected artists will be notified on March 24, 2021, and artwork must be delivered to the gallery between March 24 and April 2, 2021.

Jury selection will be based on the strength of the public awareness and de-stigmatization narrative in the work, and the artist's personal dedication to the cause. Vulgar, pornographic, or profane images will be disqualified. Selected artists grant Siy Gallery the right to publish images for publicity purposes and to promote work on the gallery website and social media. If artwork is sold, the artist receives 50% of the sale price, Siy Gallery receives 40% commission, and 10% goes to California Clubhouse of San Mateo.
