The Art of Beauty

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists and photographers of all levels to submit original 2D artwork to this open call exhibition. The gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, encaustic, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Submit 3 to 9 JPEG images (under 5 MB, minimum 1200 pixels on longest side). Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images at $5.00 each. Include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion for each work. Only 2D artwork will be included; no reproductions or derivatives of other artists' work are accepted. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Pieces should not exceed 48 inches (framed) on the longest side or weigh more than 45 lbs. Photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats if used.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by March 14, 2022. Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery by April 5, 2022 via UPS or FedEx only (no hand-delivered work accepted). The exhibition runs April 8 through May 4, 2022. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. A prepaid return shipping label must be enclosed with artwork. First Prize is $400, Second Prize is $200. One artist selected from all accepted works during the calendar year will receive an exhibition opportunity in New York City. The gallery retains 30% commission on sales; artists receive 70%. All artwork must remain in the gallery for the full exhibition duration.
