The Art Gallery at Umpqua Community College Call to Artists

The Art Gallery at Umpqua Community College invites artists to submit work for exhibition consideration. All artwork must be of original concept and design, not created in instructional settings or by artificial intelligence. Artwork must have been created within the last five years.

Submissions should include 10 to 20 images (detail and installation shots are acceptable). A $25 submission fee applies to both individual and group submissions. Individual artists must submit a CV, artist statement, and a statement describing the overall theme or concept for the exhibit. Group applications should include a CV and artist statement for each artist, plus a single statement describing the overall theme or concept. Groups must designate one artist as coordinator for all communication with the gallery. Artwork will be chosen based on conceptual and technical excellence.

Two-dimensional works must be wired to hang and have a maximum size of 96" in height and 120" in length (larger works require prior agreement). Three-dimensional work must be suitable for display on a pedestal or floor and should weigh less than 50 lbs (larger works require approval). Artwork may be for sale or designated NFS. The gallery retains a 20% support fee for all sales; artists receive 80% of the sale price by check. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of exhibited items and any shipping costs. A small exhibit stipend will be provided to offset preparation and shipping expenses. Artists may also propose a workshop to be discussed with gallery staff. Eligible artists must be 18 years or older, currently living in the United States, and may be emerging, mid-career, or established. Artists will be notified of acceptance by May 31, 2024, and exhibit dates will be determined upon acceptance.
