The Animal Kingdom

The Animal Kingdom is an exhibition at Niza Knoll Gallery featuring artwork inspired by animals. The call invites artists to explore how animals have been part of their lives and to record their feelings through artwork—whether real, imaginary, or abstract. Artists may submit work in various media including painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, ink), assemblage, collage, print, photograph, or sculpture (stone, clay, wood, paper maché, bronze) or installation.

The entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must be original artwork created within the last 4 years and not previously shown at the gallery. Artists must submit 1-3 images online via CAFÉ. Artwork must be well executed, clean, dry, and ready for display. For 2D work, use a secure wire on the back with a simple black frame (optional for stretched canvas or board with at least 1.5 inch border). Local 2D work cannot exceed 48" width by 72" height including frame. Shipped work cannot exceed 36" x 36" and must arrive by May 9th in a strong reusable box with paid return label (do not use shipping peanuts). 3D pedestal work must not exceed 30 pounds and stand securely. All artwork must be marked on the back with artist name, title, medium, size, and price. Accepted work must remain in the gallery for the entire exhibition and be available for sale. The artist receives 60% of the sale price within 40 days after the exhibit ends. Local delivery is May 10th between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The exhibition runs May 13-June 12, 2022.
