The 5th Annual Dirty South Cup Call & Competition

River Oaks Square Arts Center is seeking ceramic vessels (mugs, cups, tea bowls) for its 5th Annual Dirty South Cup Call and Competition. Up to 125 artists will be chosen for this national, juried exhibition to display traditional or non-traditional ceramic work at River Oaks Square Arts Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all artists working in clay and residing in the United States. Work may not be larger than 7" x 7" x 7". Both functional and non-functional, traditional and non-traditional pieces are accepted. All work must be for sale with no single piece exceeding $250 in value. Entry fee is $25 per artist for up to three entries. Digital entry only in JPEG format, 5MB maximum. Artists are responsible for shipping and insurance costs to and from the gallery, with a 15 lb weight limit. All work must include a return label. Works will be insured for 50% of stated value from delivery through the end of the exhibition. Artists will pay a 30% commission to the gallery on all sales.

Awards and Timeline: First Prize is $500, with four Juror's Choice awards of $125 each. The top 20 artists will be considered for "exhibiting artist" designation in future invitational shows hosted by ROSAC. Acceptance notification is March 15, 2019. Work delivery deadline is March 29, 2019 by 5pm. Exhibition dates are April 5 - May 25, 2019. Opening reception and award announcement with juror remarks is April 12, 2019 from 5-8pm. Guest juror is Doug Peltzman, a studio potter from Shokan, New York. A two-day ceramic workshop with Doug Peltzman will be held April 10-11, 2019 from 10am-4pm for $95 per person (limited enrollment, first-come-first-served, pre-registration required by calling 318.473.2670).
