About This Call
The 52nd Founders Juried Awards Exhibition is a contemporary art exhibition open to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork by artists residing in the United States. Founders exhibitions honor the artists who came together in 1954 to create the Naples Art Association, the first non-profit visual arts organization in Collier County, Florida. The exhibition will be installed in the ground floor galleries of the Naples Art Association, located at 585 Park Street in Naples, Florida, from February 24 through March 25, 2018.
The exhibition is open to original artwork created after January 1, 2014. Artwork must be original and not exhibited by the Naples Art Association within the preceding twelve months. Prints produced from original works are not eligible. Accepted artwork must remain on display for the entire duration of the exhibition. Two-dimensional artwork has a maximum width and height of 96 inches (including frame if framed). Three-dimensional artwork has maximum dimensions of 48 x 48 x 48 inches with a maximum weight of 100 pounds. A non-refundable entry fee of $29 is required. Entries must include 1-2 images and an artist's statement of not more than 2,000 characters.
$3,500 in cash awards will be presented to artists during a reception on Friday, March 2, 2018. Awards include: $1,000 Best of Show, $800 First Place, $600 Second Place, $400 Juror's Choice Award, $200 Award of Merit (two awards), and $100 Honorable Mention (three awards). Notifications will be posted to your CaFÉ account by January 24, 2018. Three jurors will review and score all entries: Joan Kropf (Deputy Director and Curator of Collections, The Dalí Museum, St. Petersburg), Olu Oguibe (Artist, Rockville, Connecticut), and Frank Verpoorten (Director and Chief Curator, The Baker Museum, Naples, Florida).
