The 40th Annual Best of Colorado Show at the Depot Art Gallery

The 40th Annual Best of Colorado Show at the Depot Art Gallery invites original artwork by Colorado artists for exhibition from May 21 to July 6, 2024. The show features $1,500 in cash prizes, including Best of Show, 2nd and 3rd Place awards, and three Honorable Mentions. The juror is Eriq Hochuli, Curator at the Foothills Art Center in Golden, CO. An awards ceremony will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 5:30–7:30 pm at the gallery.

Eligibility is limited to Colorado artists submitting original work that has not been accepted in a previous Best of Colorado at the Depot competition. All artwork must be for sale, with the gallery retaining a 30% commission on sales. Acceptable media includes traditional and digital photography, paintings, collage, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, fiber/textile, mixed media, wood, and glass. Giclée prints and AI art are not permitted. Wall-hanging artwork is limited to 30" in any direction including framing and must weigh less than 25 pounds. Three-dimensional hanging works cannot exceed 20" in any direction; free-standing three-dimensional work cannot exceed 30" wide and 60" tall and must not weigh more than 25 pounds.

Entry fee is $35 for up to two images, with a $15 media fee for a third image submission. Entries must be submitted through CaFÉ (www.callforentry.org) between March 3 and April 9, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered only on Sunday, May 19, 2024 between 9am–12pm to the Depot Art Gallery, 2069 W. Powers Ave., Littleton, Colorado 80120. Jury notifications will be sent by email by May 2, 2024. Unsold work may be picked up on Sunday, July 7 from 12pm–4pm.
