About This Call
The 33rd International Online Exhibition is hosted by the Pastel Art Promotion Association of Taiwan (PAPAT). This is an online exhibition only with no physical shipping of works required.
PAPAT was established in 2015 with a mission to advance the appreciation of pastel art in Taiwan. The organization initially focused on showcasing local pastel artists through exhibitions and has since expanded to invite talented artists from around the globe to enrich the public's understanding of pastel art and bring diverse artistic perspectives to Taiwan.
The exhibition is open to all pastel artists 18 years or older. Works must be in dry pastel (no oil pastels), with the top layer at least 80% dry pastel application. Mixed media works must be predominantly dry pastel. All artwork must be original, created within the last 2 years (no earlier than September 19, 2023), and not created in classroom or workshop scenarios, from instructor-provided references, or on top of photographic images. Works created using AI software are not eligible. Artists retain copyright but consent to PAPAT's use of images for publicity and archival purposes.
Entry fee is $35 for the first image and $10 for each additional image, with a maximum of 5 images per artist. Up to 5 entries may be submitted, but no more than one painting per artist will be accepted for the exhibition. Paintings are selected by jury, and all artists receive email notification by March 24, 2026. Awards include First Place ($1000), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), and 5 Awards of Excellence ($100 each). All payments are in USD via PayPal, Revolut, or Wise. Submitted images must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, with no visible matting, frames, or background. The exhibition runs from March 30 to June 1, 2026.
