The 2nd Annual Plein Air on the Santa Cruz Retreat

Join the second annual plein air retreat for artists at Rancho Santa Cruz in southern Arizona, October 27 – November 2, 2019. Check in on Sunday, October 27th to explore the ranch and surroundings. On Monday, October 28th, workshop instructor Tom Blazier, a leading southwest oil painter, will present "Principles for Successful Outdoor Painting" in the morning, followed by a paint out with continuing instruction. A variety of paint-outs at nearby locations and artists gatherings will continue through the week.

On Friday, November 1st, exhibit your work in an exclusive exhibition at Tubac Center for the Arts, a three-week show running through November 20th. An artists' reception with awards will be held, with First, Second, and Third Place prizes up to $500 cash value, judged by Tom Blazier. In 2018, half of the artists participating in the retreat sold artwork through TCA and the RSC gallery.

Enrollment is limited to the first 25 applicants. Packages are available with and without lodging at the ranch. With lodging: $950 for a private room or $650 for a shared room (both include breakfast, check-in Sunday October 27 – check-out Saturday November 2). Retreat only without lodging: $250 (includes workshop and 3-4 paint-outs). A 25% deposit holds your room, with balance due on arrival. Returning participants receive 10% off lodging. Entry fee: $20.
