About This Call
This annual art award honors the life of Susannah Kelly, a beloved member of the art community and co-founder of Antler & Talon Galleries in Portland, Oregon. The award continues her legacy of providing a platform for emerging artists.
The competition is open to all artists and features three categories: Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. Each category winner receives a solo exhibition at Antler & Talon Galleries, a $2000 stipend, a one-week takeover of the gallery's Instagram account, a Q&A Zoom call with Neil Perry (owner and curator) to discuss career goals, and their name added to the Susannah Kelly Art Award trophy on permanent display at the gallery. Additionally, 20 artists will be selected as "Artists of Great Potential" to include one original work in a group exhibition alongside established artists.
Applications open February 23, 2026 and close at midnight on April 6, 2026. Entry fee is $10 per applicant (waived for artists 20 years old or younger). Applicants must submit images of five completed works with title, year, medium, and dimensions for each; a short bio including previous exhibition experience and current location; and links to website and/or art-related social media. Award winners will be notified by April 24, 2026. The awarded exhibitions open September 24, 2026. Winners are expected to create and ship works to the gallery by September 19, 2026 for installation.
