The 2018 CVG Show

Collective Visions Gallery announces the Eleventh Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for Photo/digital, Two-dimensional and Three-dimensional art. All Washington State artists are invited to submit work; over $10,000 in cash and purchase prizes will be awarded for winners in several categories.

Eligibility: All artists must be 18 years of age or older and be a resident of Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and executed within the last three years (since 1/1/15) or never have been shown publicly. They must be created without the supervision of an instructor. Copies of existing artworks or those based on copyrighted artworks are not eligible. A maximum of three entries per artist is permitted; artists may enter more than one category. All work must be for sale.

Entry fee is $45.00 with a limit of 3 art works. Preferred entry method is online through CaFE. Mail-in entries are available for an additional $15 fee. Work samples: 1-6 images required. Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 9 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas; shipped work must use Plexiglas. An additional $15 charge applies for all shipped artwork.

Entry deadline: November 19, 2017 at 11 pm. Notifications to artists on or before December 30, 2017. Hand deliveries accepted January 13-14, 2018 from 1-5 pm. Shipped work accepted January 2-13. Exhibition opens January 20 with reception, awards ceremony and juror's talk 5-7:30 pm. Exhibition closes February 24. Artists pick up work February 25, 1-5 pm; $25 charge for late pick-ups. Shipped work sent by March 2, 2018.

Awards include Mayor's Award for Best of Show ($1,500), CAFNW Best of Kitsap Award ($1,000), First/Second/Third prizes in each category ($1,000/$500/$250), People's Choice Award ($300), Judges Awards up to 3 in each category ($25 each), and purchase prizes ($3,000). Jurors: Harry Longstreet (Photography), Paula Stokes (3D Category), Teresa Saia (2D Category). Collective Visions Gallery retains a 33% commission on all sales.
