The 2016 Human Experience vs. the Abstracts

2016 Overland Park Art at the Center Human Form vs Abstract Exhibition. Show dates: August 6 through October 2, 2016.

This exhibit features all manner of art from painting and photography to sculpture, collage and textiles. Digitally altered photography is welcome. Entry fee is $10 for up to 3 images. Eligibility is local only. Artists must submit 1-3 images. All work submitted must be for sale, with a 25% gallery commission and sales taxes applied. Accounts will be settled within 30 days of the conclusion of the exhibition. Prices are not subject to change once registration is submitted.

Awards sponsored by Friends of Overland Park Arts: Best of Show - $300, Second Place - $150, and four $25 Honorable Mention Awards. Art at the Center is a not-for-profit gallery space located at Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell Ave. (119th & Lowell). Gallery hours: Mon.-Fri. 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sat. 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Closed Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is free. Local work only; no shipments accepted. Artwork must be received ready to display. Framed art must weigh no more than 30 lbs. Hanging wire must be at least 100# weight (#3 wire). Strip framing and saw tooth hangers are forbidden. Stretched canvas may be unframed only if sides are painted (gallery wrap). The City of Overland Park will not assume liability for loss or damage associated with shipping but does insure the exhibition against loss and damage. Artists have 10 days to submit a written claim and three bids for repair. Claims will not be considered on pre-existing conditions.
