Text and Image: International Juried Art Exhibition NYC

Site:Brooklyn invites submissions from artists 18 years of age or older for an international juried art exhibition highlighting the intersection between text and image. The exhibition will run June 16–July 16, 2017, with an opening reception on Friday, June 16 from 6–9 PM. This is an open call for artists working in two-dimensional mixed media, drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography. The juror is Edith Newhall, art critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Submission Requirements: Submit 3–12 images with a $35 entry fee for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image. All entries must be received by midnight, May 4, 2017 MDT. Accepted artists will be notified by email on May 13, 2017 and must confirm participation by May 18, 2017. Only original works may be submitted. Text descriptors for each image must include Title, Year Completed, Medium, and Dimensions. Entries that differ significantly from their digital images may be rejected.

Accepted Work Requirements: Maximum size is 48" W × 60" H × 4" D. All work must be professionally framed (no clip frames, saw-tooth hangers, or taped edges). Conventional framed work must use Plexiglas, except hand-delivered work less than 24" × 30". Canvases may have gallery-wrapped edges. Work must be wired and ready for hanging with a label on the back indicating the top, artist name, title, medium, dimensions, and price. All artwork must be priced for sale and cannot be withdrawn or have sales shipped before the exhibition ends. Shipped artwork must arrive between May 24 and June 12, 2017. Hand delivery is available June 10–11 from 12–5 PM. Site:Brooklyn retains a 40% commission on all sales. The gallery assumes no liability for damage or loss during transport or while in its care. Artists may submit their own insurance if desired.
