About This Call
The SFA Galleries present the Texas National Exhibition and Competition 2024, open to all artists working in the United States. Works may be of any medium except video and performance. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. No previously submitted works will be accepted.
Entry fee is $35.00. Entrants may submit up to three digital images of three different artworks through the CaFÉ website. Each work must be represented by only one image with no detail views or duplicates. Works must be available through the entire run of the show (April 12 - June 30, 2024). Size limitations: Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 48" in height or width including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" in height, 24" in width, and 24" in depth. If a separate pedestal is used, total height including pedestal must not exceed 60". Each crated or packaged work must not exceed 50 lbs.
Accepted work must be shipped at the artist's expense, properly and securely packed in a single reusable carton or crate (no Styrofoam peanuts), ready for installation. All 2-D works must have hangers or be wired for hanging. Plexiglass must be used instead of glass in framing. Works must arrive by March 25, 2024. Each reusable carton or crate must include a pre-paid return-shipping label with pre-paid insurance. Artists may hand-deliver or pick up work if arrangements are made in advance. Any artworks without return shipping that are abandoned or not claimed by September 15, 2024, will become the property of Stephen F. Austin State University. The juror is Peter S. Briggs, former Chief Curator at the University of Arizona Museum of Art and Helen Devitt Jones Endowed Curator of Art at the Museum of Texas Tech University. The gallery maintains high security with a guard present during gallery hours, facilitates sales with no commission, and does not profit from entry fees. All monies collected pay for the exhibition, artists' fees, awards, and advertising. Contact: [email protected] or 936-468-1131.
