Texas National 2013 Competition & Exhibition

Texas National 2013 is a juried art competition open to all artists working in the United States. The juror is Peter Selz, a renowned art historian and curator. Works may be of any medium except video and performance. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. No previously submitted works will be accepted. All works must be available through the entire run of the show.

Awards include 1st place - $2,000; 2nd place - $1,000; 3rd place - $500; and Honorable Mentions. Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 48" in height or width including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" in height, 24" in width, and 24" in depth. If a separate pedestal is used, total height including pedestal must not exceed 60". Each crated or packaged work must not exceed 50 lbs. Entry fee is $35 for one, two, or three digital images submitted via CaFÉ. Mailed payments via personal check or money order must be postmarked no later than February 9, 2013, and sent to TEXAS NATIONAL, P.O. Box 13041, SFA Station, Nacogdoches, TX 75962-3041.

Accepted works must be shipped at the artist's expense, properly and securely packed in a single reusable carton or crate with no Styrofoam peanuts. Works must arrive by March 23, 2013, ready for installation. All 2-D works must have hangers or be wired for hanging. Plexiglas must be used instead of glass in framing. Return shipment will be paid by TEXAS NATIONAL, excluding insurance.
