Texas National 2010

TEXAS NATIONAL 2010 is an annual art competition and exhibition hosted by the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University. The 2010 exhibition runs April 10 - May 22, 2010 at the Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329 E. Main St., Nacogdoches, TX. The juror is Judy Pfaff, a pioneer of installation art known for exuberant sculptures and installations that synthesize landscape, architecture, and color.

The competition is open to all artists working in the United States. Works may be of any medium except video or performance, and must be original and completed in the past two years. Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 48" in height or width including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 60" in height, 24" in width, and 24" in depth. Each work must not exceed 50 lbs when crated or packaged. Entry fee is $35 for up to three digital images of three works, with additional images available for $5 each. Submissions are accepted through CaFÉ. Awards include 1st place $2000, 2nd place $1000, 3rd place $500, and Honorable Mentions. An illustrated catalog will be produced. Juror selections will be announced by March 5, 2010. Accepted works must be shipped at the artist's expense prior to April 1, 2010. Return shipping will be paid by TEXAS NATIONAL, though artists may arrange additional insurance at their own cost.
