About This Call
The Texas Mesquite & Fine Art Spectacular is held in downtown Fredericksburg at Marktplatz, a central city park with open-air pavilions located on Main Street. The event celebrates 31 years of success as a premier small town art fair in Texas, featuring unique handmade treasures in mediums including mesquite wood art, other woods, leather, textiles, metal, glass, gourds, painting, and fine craft. The event is low-key, casual, and family and pet friendly. Admission is free.
Artists must submit six color digital images via the ZAPP application: five images of individual pieces representative of their work, and one booth/display image showing the full range of work with no names or people visible. An outdoor booth shot is ideal but not required. The application fee is $25.00. Artists may submit up to 2 applications for this show. Emerging artists are accepted. All work exhibited must be original art produced by the artist, with the exception of limited and clearly identified collaborative works. All two-dimensional work must be framed, matted, or stretched. Only original artwork and limited edition prints may be displayed and offered for sale; prints must be signed, limited editions clearly marked as reproductions.
Application Deadline: May 15, 2026. Jurying begins May 15, 2026. Acceptance notification will be emailed June 5, 2026. Booth fees are due July 1, 2026. Booth location notification will be sent mid-September 2026. Show setup is Thursday, October 8 starting at 1 pm and Friday, October 9 from 7:30 am to noon, with all booth setup completed by noon on Friday, October 10, 2025. Show hours: Friday, October 9, noon to 6 pm; Saturday, October 10, 10 am to 6 pm; Sunday, October 11, 10 am to 3 pm. An informal artist reception will be hosted Friday evening.
