Tenuous Threads: Atlantic Gallery 2023 Juried Exhibition

Atlantic Gallery invites artists to submit work for the juried exhibition Tenuous Threads, featuring contemporary work incorporating textiles, fibers, threads, and mixed media. The exhibition runs January 24–February 11, 2023, at Atlantic Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. The juror, Patricia Miranda, will award one artist a grand prize of a one-week solo show at Atlantic Gallery at a future date. A PDF catalog of the exhibition will be available.

Artists may submit 2D or 3D artwork that stretches the boundaries of textile and fiber techniques, including mixed media, painting, collage, and sculpture that incorporate a textile or fiber component. Work may not exceed 40 inches in any direction and must be ready to hang or mount. Hanging work must be wired or otherwise prepared for installation. Sculptures must be firmly stable and fit on a 19-inch square pedestal, or artists may provide their own stand. Entry fee is $35 for three works and $5 for each additional work, up to five images total. Images must be labeled as: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_title of artwork_HxWxD.jpg with dimensions of 1200–1800 pixels on the smallest side and maximum file size of 5 MB.

Deadline for submissions is December 10, 2022. Artists will be notified of acceptance January 4–5, 2023. Work must be hand-delivered or shipped to the gallery January 17–21, 2023. The opening reception is January 26, 5:30–8pm. Hand-delivered work must be picked up February 11, 5–6pm or February 14–16, 12–6pm. All shipped work must include a pre-paid return shipping label. Atlantic Gallery will take a 30% commission on any work sold. Open to all international and US artists 18 years or older.
