Tend

Tend explores the power of gardens as agents of beauty, hope, and resilience through artistic observations and interpretations of such spaces. The exhibition seeks work that explores gardens as places for generative spiritual care of persons, places, plants, animals, and other beings.

The gallery accepts 2D, wall-hung work in the following mediums: photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, poetry, and mixed media. Some 3D work may be accepted if it is small (taking up less than a square foot of floor space) and can be displayed against a wall. Video work, AI-generated work, work designed to be hung from the ceiling, and 3D work designed to be seen in-the-round are not accepted. Work must be ready to hang; framed work should be hung by wire or command strips, and unframed work should be able to be pinned, hung by clips, or by command strips (with hanging hardware provided by the artist). Submissions must include an artist statement that responds specifically to the call.

Entry fee: $15. Submission deadline: April 4, 2025. Notification of acceptance: April 11, 2025. Artwork delivery date: April 26, 2025. Exhibition dates: May 4, 2025 - July 18, 2025. Work samples may include up to 10 images, 3 audio files, and 3 video files, with a minimum of 1 total sample and maximum of 10 total samples.
