About This Call
Temple Tantrum is a two-day festival combining music, experimental arts, and costumed block party elements. The event showcases local legends and experiential art, sponsored by Meow Wolf and benefiting Platteforum.
Selected artworks are eligible for awards: 1st place $250 and 2nd place $100. The judge is Cortney Stell, Chief Curator and Executive Director of the Black Cube Nomadic Museum. Award winners will be announced Sunday, September 2nd at 8:30pm at Stage 2 (on 24th St). Entry fee is $35. Artists must submit 4-6 images as work samples.
Artworks will be secured overnight inside the building, and artists must complete Loan Agreement Forms. Artwork should be able to withstand heavy visitor and foot traffic. Indoor immersive installations may begin installation on August 17th at 9am and must be completed by August 27th at 9am. Outdoor artworks have a setup window of 8am-10am Saturday, September 1st and breakdown window of 10pm-midnight Sunday, September 2nd. Artists are responsible for proper insurance and protection of work. Artists retain 100% of sales and are responsible for collection and reporting of sales tax.
