Technical Director/Facilities Manager, The District Theatre

Beginning late February 2026, The District Theatre seeks a senior-level technical professional to join our small but mighty team. This full-time contractor role combines technical direction, production oversight, and facilities stewardship in a year-round venue on Mass Ave. The Facilities & Technical Director is responsible for supervising and coordinating the production facilities, including all uses of stage and related equipment in the venues. In addition, the Facilities & Technical Director oversees the production sequence for all events and produced work. In the facilities portion of the role, the Facilities & Technical Director is responsible for general upkeep of the facility and reporting the need of small repairs or identifying the need for outside labor and securing such assistance. Decisions of significance will be made in consultation with the Managing Director. The Facilities & Technical Director is the safety officer responsible for overseeing the maintenance of a safe workplace in compliance with OSHA, ADA, and Building Fire Codes, and is responsible for addressing any safety hazards or safety infractions and following up on any hazard reports. The ideal candidate is an experienced technical director who enjoys variety, autonomy, and contributing to a mission-driven organization. Salary $50K+ commensurate with experience.
