About This Call
Tears and Smiles 2025 is an international juried exhibition inviting visual artists to explore the contrast between joy and sorrow through art. The exhibition seeks paintings, sculptures, illustrations, photographs, mixed-media works, and other visual art forms that express powerful human stories behind tears and smiles.
Theme suggestions include emotional portraits, bittersweet moments, hope and healing, childhood memories, cultural expressions, symbolic still life, nature as emotion, abstract emotionalism, eyes as mirrors, and duality and contrast. All 2D and 3D mediums are welcome. Artists may submit up to 6 artworks, with a maximum of 2 accepted per artist.
Selected artworks will be exhibited in an online international group exhibition from August 16 to October 16, 2025, featured on Artsy.net, included in the exhibition catalog, and promoted for sales. Up to 10 artists will receive Honorable Mention awards. Additional benefits include lifetime exhibition links, promotional badges, artwork reviews from visitors, analytics reports, and potential publication opportunities. Submission is free; selected artists pay a USD 35 selection fee with a money-back guarantee until the exhibition opening. The jury process uses a two-phase system: Yes/No selection followed by scoring from 1-10 by jury members.
