About This Call
The annual Hi-Art exhibit offers students an opportunity to learn how to professionally present their artwork, share and sell their art with the community and visitors to the Tubac Center of the Arts. Due to COVID-19 and school closures, the 2020 Hi-Art Exhibition has been converted to a virtual digital exhibit. Senior students are encouraged to apply with an image of their artwork and a completed scholarship application. The deadline to apply has been extended to May 15, 2020.
Each artist may submit one image of original art created during the 2019-2020 school year. Artwork may be for sale with the price determined by the artist; the artist will receive 100% of the sale with no commission from TCA. All wall art, printmaking, drawings, and paintings must be framed and wired for hanging to qualify for inclusion in the exhibition. No sawtooth hangers are permitted.
Awards include: Senior Scholarship ($1,000 college scholarship), Best of Show ($300), Award of Excellence ($200), Award of Merit ($100), and Honorable Mention ($75). By applying, artists agree to release the use of images of their artwork for promotional use by Tubac Center of the Arts for future Hi-Art exhibits and general promotions. Award winners and artists attending the opening reception also agree to release images of themselves for promotional use and as a permanent record of the exhibit.
