About This Call
Welcome artists to the Tavares Art in the Park series, a 2-day juried art show held October 11-12th in beautiful Wooton Park directly on Lake Dora. This outdoor event features original and giclee artwork by talented artists from throughout the country, combined with food, drink, and artistic entertainment performers. The show is promoted and sponsored by the City of Tavares and takes place in the quaint town's scenic lakefront park, home to sea planes and tours.
All mediums of original artwork are accepted, with no resale items allowed. The show includes separate judging categories with First, Second, and Third place awards for original artwork, plus separate awards for artists under 18. Artists must provide 3 images and a booth shot for jury consideration. The juried selection process typically receives around 100 applications and selects approximately 60 artists to participate.
Booth spaces are 10'x10' for $200 (with $150 balance due after approval) and weights are mandatory for this outdoor event. Artists must provide their own tent, tables, chairs, and display materials. Setup begins Saturday at 7:00 AM and must be completed by 11:00 AM when the show opens to the public (Saturday 11am-5pm, Sunday 10am-5pm). Breakdown starts after 5:00 PM Sunday. Indoor space is available on a first-come basis. This is a rain or shine event with no refunds, though credits may be applied to future shows.
