Tampa Bay Times Forum: 2nd Annual Open Call to Artists

The Tampa Bay Times Forum invites artists to submit work for its 2nd Annual Open Call to Artists. Artists must live or work in the Greater Tampa Bay area and be 13 years of age or older. Each artist may submit up to three fully completed original works of art in any medium, excluding computer art.

Size restrictions apply: hanging artwork must be no larger than 6'x6' (including frame), and sculpture is limited to 7' tall with varying widths accepted. A jury composed of local art community leaders from Tampa Bay area museums will select up to 41 pieces to be displayed in the Times Forum on the interior walls of the Suite Level. Selection will be based on visual impact, conceptual impact, and the degree to which the work celebrates the Tampa Bay community.

The top three highest ranked pieces will receive cash prizes of $1,500, $1,000, and $500 respectively. Honorable mentions (4-10) will each receive $250. All selected pieces will be displayed from September 30, 2013 to September 15, 2014. Selected artists will be invited to a reception in the fall and will have their interviews played during a Tampa Bay Lightning home game. Artists may sell their work during the exhibit, retaining 100% of the sale price, provided the piece remains at the Times Forum until the end of the exhibition.
