Tampa Bay Lightning 7th Annual Call for Entry

In the exhibit's first six years, over 250 local pieces of art have been displayed for the Arena's estimated 1.5 million annual visitors. This exhibition has brought awareness to local emerging artists and directly benefitted them, as all art is for sale with proceeds going to the artist. Each year, hundreds of submissions are received, and representatives from the Tampa Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, the Ringling Museum of Art, and the Dali Museum help select the winning pieces.

The exhibition welcomes art that visually celebrates Tampa Bay and its people. Artists of all ages are welcome, with a special category for artists under 18 years of age. Artists must live or work in the greater Tampa Bay area and may submit up to three fully completed original works. All mediums are welcome, excluding free-standing sculpture. Hanging artwork must be no larger than 6'x6' (including frame). Wall-hanging sculpture is limited to 7' tall with varying widths accepted. Acceptable mediums include painting, photography, drawing, and wall-hanging sculpture.

Awards include: Top three artists overall - $1,000 each; Honorable Mention (4-10) - $250 each; Top three artists under age 18 - $250 each. Submissions are due by September 7, 2018. Artists will be notified on or before September 24, 2018 of acceptance into the exhibition. The unveiling and reception will be held in late September to early October 2018.
