About This Call
Tamarac Sculpture on Inspiration Way is a sculpture loan program seeking original three-dimensional artwork for outdoor display along the corridor of Nob Hill Road between Commercial Boulevard and McNab Road in Tamarac, Florida.
The program is open to all artists nationwide creating original three-dimensional artwork of a scale and material suitable for outdoor display. Florida artists are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in outdoor installation of public work is preferred but not necessary. Artwork should be durable and require minimal ongoing maintenance, designed to withstand South Florida's subtropical climate with intense sun and seasonal heavy rain. Sculptures must be designed and constructed to be securely anchored to a concrete pad provided by the City.
Selected artists will receive a total honorarium of $2,500 per selected artwork, paid in two installments: $1,250 after successful installation and $1,250 after successful removal from the site. A $1,000 cash award will be given for Best of Show. The City will cover the artwork against damage or theft during the exhibition and will produce publicity materials. Sale of exhibited artwork will be encouraged, with a 25% commission on works sold remaining with the City. Artists are responsible for installation and de-installation coordination with the City's Public Art Administrators and must provide proof of General Liability insurance naming the City as an additional insured, Automobile insurance, and Workers' Compensation insurance or exemption. Permit fees will be reimbursed by the City. Submissions must include 1-3 images and are due Wednesday, November 10, 2021 via CAFÉ software. Questions should be directed to [email protected] or [email protected].
