About This Call
The Downtown Long Beach Associates and Millworks invite artist submissions for Talent Pool 2016, a fine art competition creating a pre-qualified roster of artists and artwork available for exhibition in public and private locations in Downtown Long Beach, California. Submissions are accepted through April 2, 2016 for two exhibitions on display for one year beginning May 2016 at the Downtown Long Beach Associates office suite (100 W Broadway) and the Packard Building (205 E. Anaheim). Selected artworks will be professionally displayed and receive publicity and exposure to influential figures in downtown Long Beach.
Eligible artists must reside in Long Beach, California and submit a portfolio of completed work available for exhibition for one year. Artists receive an honorarium for the use of their work and for site-specific installations. Several interior sites are available, including large wall spaces in lobby and reception areas, conference rooms, and work areas. The most competitive work will convey high quality fine art techniques and presentation standards with theme and content appropriate for a business environment.
Submissions must include a maximum of twenty digital images of artwork created in the last five years (with title, medium, dimensions, date, and sale price for each), a one-paragraph artist statement (approximately 300 words), and a CV/resume (2-page maximum). Eligible artwork includes original works in painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, and light projection. No jewelry, video, or audio media accepted. Selected artists will be notified between April 15-30, 2016. All applications must be submitted online through callforentry.org.
