About This Call
Black Box Gallery is hosting an open themed juried group photography exhibition. The show is open to all themes, styles, and genres, including landscape, architecture, portraiture, documentary, fashion, still life, conceptual projects, street, color and black and white, nature, and night photography.
Juror Todd Johnson is the founder and director of Black Box Gallery. He received his MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has been a photography portfolio reviewer for Photolucida and juried The Drawers Program for Blue Sky Gallery. Johnson has worked as an independent photography curator and college photography instructor for 15 years in Portland.
Submissions must include 1-5 images. Entry fee is $35.00. The exhibition will display 24 photographs selected by the juror at the gallery, with an additional 30 photographs selected for exhibition in the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books. Exhibition dates are March 1-20, 2019, with an opening reception on Friday, March 1, 6-8:00 pm.
Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all exhibitions. Selected photographers must provide high resolution TIFF or JPEG files. Prints are kept in a flat file after the show for future sale and promotion. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with 50% going to the photographer. Artists may request that prints not be for sale and be used for exhibition and promotion only. All rights remain with the photographer.
