"Take A Look, It's In A Book" - Literary Themed Art Show

Memento Mori Gallery & Tattoo is hosting "Take A Look, It's In A Book," a literary themed art show in May. The gallery welcomes artwork inspired by books or literature, as well as book art. As a lowbrow/outsider contemporary art gallery, the gallery invites the outsider, the lowbrow, and the macabre.

Memento Mori Gallery & Tattoo is located in the 40West Arts District at 6451 W. Colfax Ave, Suite B, Lakewood, Colorado 80214, part of the art walk circuit and in the same shopping center as Casa Bonita. The gallery receives good foot traffic on First Fridays. The First Friday opening reception on 5/3/24 from 6-9pm will include music and refreshments.

Artists may submit 2D & 3D book or literature themed artwork, including book art. Pieces must be ready to hang or display physically (digital artwork will not be displayed unless printed and framed/mounted properly). Entry fee is $20 per piece, with artists able to submit up to 2 pieces. Artwork must be for sale, with 40% of sales going to the gallery. "Ready to Hang" means hanging hardware is already attached; plain canvas without hanging wire is not acceptable. Hanging wire is preferred, no adhesive mounts, and pieces must be able to hang from a hook or nail. Photographic work depicting another artist's artwork will not be accepted without express permission from the artist to show and sell the photograph, including street art. Eligibility is open to all artists in the US. Drop off date is 4/30/24. Show dates are 5/3/24-5/25/24. Pick up date is 5/28/24.
