About This Call
The 16th annual Art by the Lake takes place June 19-21, 2026 (Father's Day weekend) on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe at Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City, CA. The fair spreads across the Mall's adjacent open grassy area overlooking Lake Tahoe between Boatworks Mall and Tahoe City Marina. Event hours are 10:00am - 5:00pm. Up to 35 spaces are available.
Eligibility is open to creators of quality handcrafted, small batch products made in the USA by the artisan selling their works. Applicants should showcase their individual perspective in unique, unusual, and/or unexpected ways with good creative design. Not accepted: buy/sell, imports, kit-based, mass-produced items, work not made by the applicant(s), books, body art, permanent jewelry, CDs, packaged specialty foods, or toys that are weapons. Artwork depicting weapons, nudity, or sensitive wording may be declined to maintain a family-friendly environment. No booth sharing except with married/significant-other partners. Two artists may request adjacent booths by applying separately.
Booth spaces and fees: 4dx15w space $175.00, 10dx10w space $175.00, or 10dx20w space $350.00, plus 10% commission on gross, pre-tax sales. A 3% fee is added to space fee credit card charges. Some spaces are on grass, some on dirt, with about half having a slant; bring shims and blocks. Setup is Thursday evening or Friday morning with artist parking a short walk away. Overnight security is provided. A 10% commission on all work sold as a direct result of this opportunity is required, including sales completed after the fair. Commissions should be postmarked to PO Box 280, Pine Grove, CA 95665 by the Wednesday following the event. PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle payments are also accepted. Cancellation policy: February 16 - May 22 results in a PFAF Credit Slip minus $50.00 per cancelled space; May 23 onwards, space fee is forfeited. Insurance is not required but strongly recommended. Each booth must have a 2A:10BC fire extinguisher. Important: This event is subject to cancellation depending on construction plans; notification will be provided by 2/28/26. If cancelled, space fees will not be processed and application fees will be returned.
