About This Call
TAG is an artist-owned gallery that showcases a diverse collection of visual artists and welcomes Los Angeles-based artists working in all mediums. The gallery's 5000 sq. ft. location on Wilshire Blvd on Museum Row is blocks from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Craft and Folk Art Museum, and the Petersen Automotive Museum, offering artists exposure at a premier arts destination. TAG has been self-supporting for more than 20 years, offering a sustaining exhibition venue for Los Angeles artists.
Membership Benefits: Each TAG artist exhibits once a year with two other artists and showcases their work every month in group exhibitions. Each artist receives 75% of sales on their artwork; the gallery takes a 25% commission on sales. Representation by TAG is non-exclusive, allowing TAG artists to also be represented by other galleries.
Membership Responsibilities and Costs: Member dues are $3000 per year, paid in two installments of $1500 in January and July. First-year members also pay a $500 non-refundable deposit. All TAG members contribute to the gallery's success through active participation, including attending brief monthly meetings, joining a committee, and spending 12 hours per year contributing to the gallery. Applications are open until September 2nd, with selected candidates notified in October. Deposits are received after admittance, and exhibitions begin in January 2018. New members participate in group shows through December, with annual shows beginning in January. Membership is capped at 40 artists, and the number of available spaces varies from year to year.
