About This Call

The Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival is a 3-day showcase of fine art and contemporary crafts held in Downtown Syracuse's Cathedral Square. Now in its 55th year, the festival attracts over 40,000 visitors annually and features both 2- and 3-dimensional works including ceramics, fabric and fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, wood, painting, graphics, drawing, sculpture, and photography. Works created by Artificial Intelligence are not permitted. The festival includes summer refreshments, family-friendly art activities, acoustic music, and multicultural street performances.

At least 130 of the total 140 participants will be selected through a jury process. Winners of the previous year's Awards of Distinction are invited to participate and are exempt from jurying. All work must be original and handcrafted by the exhibiting artist. Reproductions must involve hand work or direct supervision by the artist, be clearly labeled "REPRODUCTION," and may not exceed 20% of booth inventory. Work displayed must be consistent with images submitted; the jury will verify compliance during the festival and require removal of any non-compliant work.

Application fee is $25 per medium, with a $10 late entry fee for applications received after March 2, 2027. Booth fee is $290 per booth, due by May 21, 2027, with a $10 late fee for payment received after that date. Applicants must submit five images: four of individual pieces representing their body of work and one of their outdoor booth display. Artists must be 18 years or older and in attendance for the duration of the show. The festival provides free artist parking, vehicle loading/unloading, separate restrooms, a hospitality area with daily coffee and pastries, and overnight security. Awards are presented on Friday, July 23, with Awards of Distinction winners invited to the 2028 festival with booth fee waived and jurying exemption.
