Synergies: Hybrid Art

The New Bedford Art Museum presents Synergies: Hybrid Art, a juried exhibition inviting submissions from artists working in all media. This call seeks works that merge artistic disciplines, materials, and technologies to create innovative forms of expression. The exhibition is open to artists internationally and will be juried by Amy Lemaire & Nicolas Touron, an artist duo based in Brooklyn, NY, whose collaborative practice explores materiality, form, and the intersection of natural and constructed environments.

Submission Requirements: All work must be original and created by the artist applicant. Works may be 2D or 3D. Submit images and materials online via CaFÉ only; physical submissions will not be reviewed. Artwork may not be larger than 40 inches on the longest side. Work needs to arrive at the gallery ready to hang but framing is not required. Submitted images must be the same as the works intended for the exhibition; unfinished or modified work will not be accepted. Do not include borders or backgrounds in images. All submissions should relate to the theme of hybrid art by material or process. The artist must provide return prepaid postage or pre-paid return shipping label for work and packaging or arrange for drop off and pick-up. Submitted work must be available for the duration of the exhibition.

Work Sample Requirements: Submit a minimum of 5 and maximum of 20 total samples, which may include up to 20 images, 6 audio files, and 6 video files. Entry fee is $40 for 5 images, with an additional $5 per image after the fifth image (maximum 20 images). Jury Period: November 18 - January 12, 2026. Notification Date: January 15, 2026. Exhibition Dates: June 4 - August 30, 2026. Drop off period for accepted work: April 23-26 and May 7-10. Work not delivered by May 10 is subject to disqualification. Shipping period for accepted work: January 13 - May 10, 2026. Cash prizes: $1000 first place, $500 second place.
