About This Call
The Southwestern Association of American Indian Art (SWAIA) hosts the Santa Fe Indian Market, the largest juried Native American art show in the world. The 2026 market will take place August 15-16 on and around the central plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico, attracting an estimated 100,000 visitors. The event sponsors over one thousand Native artists from more than two hundred tribal communities in North America and Canada, who compete for awards in SWAIA's prestigious juried art competition.
Artists who are enrolled members in a federally recognized tribe, band, or corporation and can provide documentation (Certificate of Indian Blood) are invited to apply. Work is juried across multiple categories including jewelry, pottery, 2-D art, Pueblo wooden carvings, sculpture, textiles, diverse media, beadwork/quillwork, basketry, and youth. Accepted artists receive booth space, available in small (5' x 10', 3 artist maximum) or large (10' x 10', 4 artist maximum) configurations. Up to three or four other accepted SWAIA artists may share a booth contingent on size.
As a juried-in artist, you attest that the work you will sell is work you created, that you will abide by SWAIA standards and policies, and that you understand failure to comply may result in booth forfeiture, penalties, and exclusion from the market. You agree to a photo release allowing SWAIA to use images and statements of the art and artist as it deems fit. For more information regarding SWAIA Standards, refer to the Classification Standards at SWAIA.org.
