About This Call
The Abstract Art Collective (AAC) is seeking submissions for "Surviving to Thriving," a juried member-only exhibition benefiting the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. 25% of sales will go to TBCF. Juror: Armando Ramos, a multimedia artist and Sculpture Professor at Santa Barbara City College.
Eligibility: Current AAC members only. Entry fee: $30 for the first entry, $10 for each additional entry (up to 5 entries). Media fee: $10. Submissions accepted through CaFE from March 17 to April 7, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Acceptance notification: April 20. Exhibition runs May 1-30, 2024 at Voice Gallery, La Cumbre Plaza, 121 S. Hope Avenue, Santa Barbara. Opening reception: May 2, 5-8pm. Third Friday reception: May 17, 5-8pm. Ingathering: Monday, April 29, 10am-12pm (hanging 12pm-5pm). Takedown: Friday, May 31, 10am-12pm.
Submissions: Abstract art, both 2D and 3D, interpreting the "Surviving to Thriving" theme loosely. 2D work must be no more than 4 feet wide with frame, no limit on height, no more than 6 inches deep. Back wire with standard multi-strand picture wire. No giclée copies of original paintings; inkjet prints of digitally created work, hand-pulled prints, and photography accepted. 3D sculptures must be less than 100 lbs, less than 8 feet high, and take less than 6 square feet of floor space. Free-standing sculptures must be stable or bolted to a base. Submit 1-5 images. Delivery: Tuesday, April 30, 10am-12pm. Label all work with artist name, medium, and title.
