Surrealism: It Is, But It Isn't

This open call is for Texas artists only. The Woodlands Art Gallery & Studios is accepting submissions for an exhibition featuring surrealist work. Artists from across Texas, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, and Corpus Christi, are invited to showcase their creativity. Selected works will be featured in a curated exhibition with an opening reception.

Artists may submit up to 5 high-quality images of original work that align with the theme of surrealism, exploring dream-like scenes, symbolic imagery, and the depths of the subconscious. The entry fee is $35. Applicants must be residing in Texas and be over the age of 18. Artwork must be received by March 15, 2024. Selected artworks must remain on display for the entirety of the exhibition dates, from March 21 through May 10, 2024. The opening reception is March 21, 2024, 5 pm - 8 pm, where winners will be announced. Cash awards will be made based on entry fees collected. Artwork pick-up is May 11, 2024, 10 am - 2 pm. Artists are responsible for delivery and collection of their artworks. Selected artworks must be ready for display with all necessary hanging hardware included. The gallery cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to artworks during the exhibition, transportation, or storage period.
