Surface Impressions: Coloratura '26

The LUX Center for the Arts, in partnership with Constellation Studios, presents Surface Impressions: Coloratura, the fourth biennial exhibition of contemporary relief printmaking. This international juried exhibition features hand-produced relief prints, including woodblock, linoleum cut, wood engraving, and mixed media relief works by artists from across the world.

Surface Impressions highlights the continued relevance of relief printmaking as a dynamic and adaptable medium, showcasing a wide range of approaches to carving, printing, and color. The 2026 theme, Coloratura, emphasizes experimentation with color, layering, and surface, revealing how artists use relief processes to create bold visual impact and nuanced material expression.

Prints are selected through an open call and juried by Janine Wong, a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and printmaker whose work explores color, systems, and abstraction. Exhibition dates: July 10, 2026 - August 29, 2026. Entry fee: $35. International eligibility.
