Surface: A National Juried Exhibition of Artworks Unique in Texture or Pattern

Surface is a national juried exhibition of artworks that highlights the unique uses of textures and patterns in art from across the country. Works must exhibit exceptional textures and/or patterns. This exhibition is open to all functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all styles and mediums. Works cannot exceed a weight of 50lbs or be longer/larger than 60" in its longest dimension. Size and weight restrictions may be waived depending on artist involvement with installation by contacting the Gallery Manager directly prior to submission.

The exhibition will be held February 15 - March 8, 2025, at d'Art Center in Norfolk, Virginia. A reception is scheduled for Friday, February 21st, 2025, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The exhibition will also be featured digitally on d'Art Center's archive site. The juried exhibition will be co-curated by Gallery Director Amanda Bradley and Exhibition Juror and artist Nicola Cornford.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions, with each additional submission up to 10 total works costing $5 each. Artists must submit 3-10 images. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Friday, February 8th, 2025. Awards include 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, and 3rd Place $150. d'Art Center takes a 60/40 commission on sales (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center).
