Surel's Place Artist Residency

Surel's Place Artist Residency is open to professional visual, literary, and performance artists including painters, writers, musicians, architects, filmmakers, and choreographers. The program welcomes any artist who needs a place to focus.

Due to the property's limitations and proximity to neighbors, the residency cannot accommodate loud or terribly messy processes such as welding or blacksmithing. Surel's Place Residency favors artists whose work is technically advanced, unique, attractive, and conceptually valuable. Work that is predominantly conceptual and must be explained in order to attract a viewer may not be met with as much enthusiasm by the jurists.
